Pistol, knife and knuckle dusters found; man charged at Liverpool, NSW

A man has been charged after police allegedly found a pistol, knuckle dusters and knife in his vehicle at Liverpool yesterday.

About 3.10pm (Sunday 8 March 2020), police were called to Charles Street, Liverpool, after a number of men were seen acting suspiciously in the area.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command responded and stopped a Honda Accord. The driver, a 20-year-old man, was spoken to and his vehicle was subsequently searched.

Police will allege they found a set of gold coloured knuckle dusters, a knife and a handgun inside the car.

The driver was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with possess unauthorised pistol, not keep firearm safely, possess prohibited weapon, and having custody of a knife in a public place.

He was refused bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court today (Monday 9 March 2020).
