This year because of Covid-19 motorists are being urged to sign the online petition.

City of Logan Mayor Darren Power is urging Logan residents to commit to better driving behaviour.

Fatality Free Friday, a national initiative to lower the road toll, urges drivers to take the pledge to drive safely by promising to:

  • Always be fit to drive
  • Stay focused on the road
  • Scan the road ahead
  • Keep a safe distance
  • Drive to suit the conditions

Councillor Power and City Infrastructure Committee Chairperson Councillor Teresa Lane signed the pledge at Logan Central Police Station.

“With more cars returning to the roads now is the time to reflect on our driving behaviour,” Cr Power said.

“Each fatality is more than just a number and the impact of a death on our roads ripples through the community.

“I urge everyone who wants to do their bit to lower our road toll to sign the pledge and commit to better driving.”

The pledge can be found at arsf.com.au.
