Police appeal to locate man missing from Ryde area

Police are appealing for assistance to locate a man with dementia missing from the Ryde area.

Hassan Tafreshi, aged 84, was last seen at an address on Alma Street, Rydalmere, about 1pm today (Friday 24 November 2023).

When he could not be located, officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold serious concerns for Hassan’s welfare as he lives with dementia and medical conditions.

Hassan is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, about 165cm tall with a slim build and shaved head.

He was last seen wearing a light green jacket, cream-coloured pyjama pants and black shoes.

He is known to frequent the Rydalmere area, and areas in Parramatta such as the Parramatta River, Parramatta Square, Westfield Shopping Centre and the railway station.

Anyone with information into his whereabouts is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
