Police appeal to locate missing elderly man – Mascot

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate missing man from Sydney’s Inner South.

Jose Peralta, aged 80, was last seen in Mascot about 3.30pm yesterday (Thursday 30 December 2023).

When he was unable to be located or contacted, officers from South Sydney Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation into his whereabouts.

Inquiries have established that Jose may have been walking south along Botany Road near the intersection of Hayes Road, Mascot, about 4.50pm.

There are serious concerns for Jose’s welfare as he lives with dementia.

Jose is described as being of South American appearance, 155cm, thin build, brown eyes, dark brown complexion, balding grey hair and walks with a slight limp.

He was last seen wearing a black zip up jacket with white stripes on sleeves, red flannelette shoes, black jeans and black sneakers.

Jose is known to frequent the Newtown, La Perouse and Vaucluse areas.
