Police appeal to locate teen missing from Katoomba

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage girl missing from the Blue Mountains.

Monica January, aged 16, was last seen at Blacktown Railway Station, around 10pm yesterday (Friday 5 May 2023).

When she failed to return home or make contact with family members, she was reported missing to officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command, who commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for her welfare due to her age and living with autism.

Monica is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 165cm tall, thin build, and has dark brown hair.

She is wearing a red beanie, blue jumper, grey long pants, and carrying a bible and stuffed toy bear.

Monica is known to frequent the railway networks.
