Police are responding to fatal crash at Silkstone, QLD

A 34-year-old Ipswich man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash at Silkstone last night (Friday May 20).

Initial investigations indicate a Ford Falcon utility was travelling west on Blackstone Road at approximately 11.30pm, when it has left the road and crashed into a petrol pump at a service station.

Emergency services ensured the area was safe as paramedics treated the male driver, however he suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

The 34-year-old was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Police urge anyone with information or dashcam footage of the vehicle leading up to the crash to come forward.
