Police are responding to fatal crash at Wunjunga, QLD

Two people have died following a traffic crash at Wunjunga, approximately 22km south of Home Hill, this afternoon (August 12).

Initial investigations indicate just before 11.30am on the Bruce Highway a crash has occurred between a truck and a vehicle, subsequently involving a third vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, a 67-year-old Hervey Bay man, died from his injuries at the scene.

The sole passenger in the vehicle, a 62-year-old Hervey Bay woman, was airlifted in a critical condition to Townsville University Hospital, where she subsequently died as a result of her injuries.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck, a 61-year-old Deeragun woman, was not physically injured.

The driver of the third vehicle, a 36-year-old Sarina Man was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
