Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash which occurred in Gembrook this morning (Wednesday 27 May).
Investigators believe the driver of a car travelling along Bessie Creek Road left the road and went down an embankment just after 4.30am.
Emergency services attended but the single male occupant died at the scene.
The road will be closed for some time while Cardinia and Casey Highway Patrol officers process the scene.
