Around 12:30am today, emergency services were alerted to a single vehicle crash which has occurred in Main Street, Zeehan. A white 2018 Toyota Landcruiser has left the road and collided with a brick wall.
Sadly, a man was found deceased at the scene. He is believed to be a local Zeehan resident. Police have identified that speed has been a contributing factor in this tragic crash.
Inspector Shane LeFevre said, “This is another avoidable tragedy and police are pleading for the motoring public to consider the ramifications of reckless driving behaviour on our roads.”
Western Crash Investigation Services are investigation the circumstances surrounding the crash and will prepare a report for the Coroner. Any person who had seen the white 2018 Toyota Landcruiser travelling in the Zeehan area in the hours prior to the crash are asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers Tasmania on 1800 333 000.
