Police are responding to serious crash – Mount Magnet

Major Crash Investigators are seeking information regarding a serious crash in Mount Magnet yesterday morning, Saturday 13 March 2021.

About 1:20pm Police were called to the Mount Magnet Nursing Post in relation to an injured child. Information was received that the 2-year-old girl had been struck by a vehicle earlier in the day and received serious injuries.

It is believed the incident occurred on Priestly Street, Mount Magnet, just before 11:00am when a black Mazda sedan was revered from a property and struck the child, who was on the roadside.

The driver of the vehicle, a 16-year-old girl, is assisting with the investigation.

The injured child has since been flown to Perth by the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The child’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
