Police have arrested five people after a short pursuit in Dandenong on Sunday evening.
Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in Airlie Avenue shortly after 7.30pm, 5 April.
The vehicle, a white Volkswagen station wagon, was confirmed to be stolen and a co-ordinated response was established by Dandenong general duties members with the assistance of the Dandenong Frontline Tactical Unit and other specialist units.
The vehicle drove off and was safely followed onto Stud Road where it came to a stop.
Five people were taken into custody and are assisting police with their enquiries.
