Police arrest five in drugs seized by Caulfield divisional response unit

Caulfield Divisional Response Unit detectives have arrested five people and seized illicit drugs after two search warrants were executed as part of an ongoing operation.

Detectives executed the warrants in Balaclava and Carnegie yesterday where quantities of what is believed to be cannabis, MDMA, cocaine, ketamine and methylamphetamine were seized as well as more than $35,000.00 in cash, ammunition and an imitation firearm.

A 30-year-old Balaclava man was subsequently charged with drug trafficking and possession offences to face Melbourne Magistrates Court today.

A 26-year-old Balaclava woman was charged with possess cannabis and bailed to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on 21 June.

A 25-year-old Balaclava man was charged with possess cartridge ammunition and possess methylamphetamine and bailed to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on 21 June.

A 23-year-old Balaclava woman was arrested and released pending summons.

A 27-year-old Balaclava woman was cautioned for drug possession.

These arrests form part of an operation which has been running for over 12-months and targeting criminal networks believed to be trafficking primarily methylamphetamine in the inner south eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
