Homicide Squad detectives have today arrested a man following the 2007 murder of Cindy Crossthwaite in Melton South.
The 41-year-old mother of three was found dead by her father in her Andrew Street home just after 4pm on Wednesday, 20 June 2007.
Police arrested a 55-year-old Footscray man at a business address in Tottenham about 8am.
He was subsequently interviewed by detectives and charged with one count of murder.
The man will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this morning.
In 2017, police announced a $1 million reward for information in relation to Cindy’s death and that reward remains on offer.
A reward of up to $1 million will be paid at the discretion of the Chief Commissioner of Police for information leading to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder.
In appropriate cases, the Department of Public Prosecutions may consider, according to established guidelines, the granting of indemnification from prosecution to any person who provides information as to the identity of the principal offender or offenders in this matter.
Any payment of a reward will be subject to the applicant signing a deed of confidentiality prior to payment.
