Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a 35-year-old man following a hit-run collision that claimed the life of a cyclist in Beaumaris yesterday.
It is alleged a cyclist was struck by a Holden Commodore on Beach Road about 5.25pm and the driver failed to stop at the scene.
The cyclist, a 60-year-old Mentone woman, died at the scene.
The car was soon located in Waller Court, Cheltenham and two women who were travelling in the car have been assisting police with their enquiries.
An Armstrong Creek man is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
