A man is in custody after the body of a woman was located at a home in Sydney’s south-west overnight.
About 9.05pm yesterday (Monday 13 June 2022), a 58-year-old man attended Wetherill Park Police Station and spoke with officers where he was placed under arrest.
A short time later officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended a home on Christie Street, Prairiewood, where the body of a 62-year-old woman was found with stab wounds.
A crime scene was established and is being examined by specialist police.
The man has been taken to Fairfield Police Station where he is currently assisting with inquiries.
Both the man and woman are known to one another.
Investigations are continuing and no further information is available at this stage.
