Police arrest man after pursuit at Hove, South Australia

A man has been arrested after a brief pursuit at Hove this morning.

Police will allege that just before 1am on Saturday 14 March, a patrol saw a grey Holden sedan on Brighton Road. Checks revealed the car was unregistered and the car had been recently defected.

When police tried to stop the car it sped off, and the pursuit was terminated soon after for safety reasons.

The car was later found a few minutes later on Penzance Street at Glenelg, and the driver arrested nearby. The car was impounded by police.

The 50-year-old Morphettville man was charged with numerous traffic offences including driving dangerously to escape a police pursuit, driving unlicenced and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
