Police arrest man after robbery at Clovelly Park

A 35-year-old man from Murray Bridge has been arrested following an aggravated robbery at Clovelly Park, where jewellery and cash was stolen.

It will be alleged that about 11.10am today (Monday 7 August), police were called to a second-hand store on South Road after reports that two men entered the store armed with a firearm and hammers.

They threatened staff and smashed the glass counters, stealing jewellery and a cash till before fleeing the scene on separate motorcycles.

One of the bikes was black, while the other was black and green.

No one was injured.

PolAir tracked one of the bike across the metropolitan area where it eventually stopped at a house in Penzance Avenue, Christies Beach about 12.30pm.

STAR Group officers and police negotiators attended the scene with local patrols and detectives.

The 35-year-old Murray Bridge man will be charged with numerous offences including aggravated robbery, threats to cause harm, dangerous driving and an outstanding warrant.

The man will be refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Detectives from Southern District CIB are continuing with the investigation.
