Police arrest man after Rowville incident

Police have arrested a man following an incident in Rowville this morning.

Officers were called to Kelletts Road shortly after 7am following reports of a stolen vehicle that had rolled into a tree.

Upon arrival, a man, who was believed to be asleep inside the vehicle, allegedly attempted to ram police.

Officers fired a single shot at the vehicle, before the man continued driving away.

He was arrested a short time later by police on Lakefield Drive.

No one was injured during the incident.

The 21-year-old Surrey Hills man is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

The investigation is ongoing and will have oversight by Professional Standards Command, as per protocol when any police firearm is discharged.
