Police Arrest Man After Shooting In Sydney CBD

A man has been arrested following a shooting in Sydney’s CBD.

About 12.50pm on Wednesday 28 February 2024, emergency services were called to a building on Castlereagh Street in the Sydney CBD, following reports of a person being shot.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and found a 77-year-old man, had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and first responders, before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for further treatment. He remains in a stable condition

A 79-year-old man has been arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station.

There is no further ongoing threat to the community.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident continues.
