Police arrest man after woman shot, South Australia

A man has been arrested over a shooting incident at Ridgehaven last night.

About 6.40pm on Thursday 27 February, a 37-year-old woman from Vista presented herself at the Modbury Hospital with a gunshot wound to her arm. The woman’s injuries are not considered life threatening.

Detectives from Eastern District CIB attended and investigated the incident with inquiries revealing the woman had been shot by a man during an altercation in her car an hour earlier at Ridgehaven. The man is known to the woman and this is not a random incident.

The suspect had initially taken the woman to hospital and left but he returned a short time later and was arrested by police.

The woman’s car has been seized and will be forensically examined.

A 40-year-old man from Vista was charged with acts to endanger life and firearms offences. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
