Police arrest man for family violence, firearms and driving offences

Police have today arrested a 23-year-old Launceston man wanted for a serious family violence incident, firearm offences and driving offences.

He was sighted in the carpark of BWS at Invermay at 9.50am, and specialist resources including the Special Operations Group safely took the offender into custody.

Two other men – associates of the wanted man – were also taken into custody at the scene.

We would like to thank any members of the public affected for their patience and assure them that this offender presented no danger to them.

Tasmania Police takes family violence and firearms offences seriously and this matter is currently under investigation.

Charges have not yet been laid.
