Police arrest man over car fire – Fulham Gardens, South Australia

A man has been arrested after he allegedly set fire to a car at Fulham Gardens tonight.

Just after 9pm on Tuesday 27 August, police and crews were called to Jasmine Grove near Coppins Terrace following reports of a car on fire.

On arrival a Mazda sedan was well alight, the fire was quickly extinguished before it could spread

On police investigation the fire was treated as suspicious, with accelerant sued to start the blaze.

A 38-year-old man from Fulham Gardens was arrested at scene for arson and resisting arrest.

The incident is not considered random with the arrested man known to the owner of the car.

The arrested man was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
