Police have arrested two people after head-on collision in Port Melbourne last night.
Officers were called to reports of a Subaru Outback travelling the wrong way through the Burnley Tunnel about 11.30pm.
As the Subaru exited the tunnel, it continued to travel west in the eastbound lanes onto the Bolte Bridge.
The Subaru then entered the city-bound off ramp and collided with an oncoming Kia Sorrento, causing the vehicle to crash into a nearby barrier.
The two occupants of the Subaru were swiftly arrested.
The six occupants of the Kia were not injured.
A 60-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, both from Rye, will be interviewed in relation to the incident.
The vehicle was not stolen.
Investigators are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the Subaru travelling through the Burnley Tunnel or towards the Bolte Bridge, and to anyone with vision of the collision.
