Police arrest teen after break and enter at Wagga Wagga

A teenager has been charged with break and enter offences in the State’s Riverina.

Around 1.45pm (Tuesday 26 December 2023), police were called to a residence in Albury Street, Wagga Wagga, following reports of a break and enter.

Police have been told a woman and her child were asleep in their unit when a teen allegedly entered through the window, waking the woman. The teen fled on foot, allegedly taking two handbags that belonged to the woman. No persons were injured.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, about 5pm yesterday (Friday 12 January 2024), officers attached to Riverina Police District arrested a 14-year-old and conveyed him to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of consent of owner.

He was refused bail to appear before the Children’s Court today (Friday 12 January 2024).
