Police arrest three in stolen BMW, South Australia

Three teenagers were arrested after a brief pursuit in the northern suburbs overnight.

Police spotted the stolen gold BMW sedan travelling north on Main North Road, Elizabeth North at 2am on Monday 20 September.

The vehicle was pursued for a short time before police were able to successfully spike the tyres near the intersection of Main North Road and Womma Road.

The car entered the backstreets and was dumped at the corner of Woodford Road and Whiteparish Road. The three occupants ran off but patrols quickly caught two of them.

Police Dog Rusty found the third suspect hiding in a rear yard a short time later.

The trio, aged 16, 15 and 14, were all arrested and charged with illegal use. The 15-year-old was charged with dangerous driving, engage in police pursuit and driving unlicensed.

They were refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court later today.

The car was stolen during a break-in at Tusmore on 19 September. Investigations are continuing.
