Police arrest three men after evading police in Deer Park

Police have arrested three men after a vehicle evaded police in Deer Park this afternoon.

Police attempted to intercept a stolen black Holden Barina sedan on Neal Street about 2.50pm.

The car sped off and was followed by the police Air Wing.

Police found it dumped on Stevenage Crescent in Albanvale where three men fled the scene on foot.

A 19-year-old man was arrested a short distance away.

Two other men, a 23-year-old and a 21-year-old, were arrested a short time later on Stevenage Crescent.

The three men are assisting police with their enquiries.

It is understood the vehicle was stolen in an aggravated burglary in Cairnlea in the early hours of this morning, where a man was assaulted about 12.20am.

Following a scuffle with the residents, it is believed the men stole car keys and fled the scene in the vehicle.

Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
