Police Charge Driver After Fatal Crash – Greenacre

A woman has been charged following a fatal crash in Sydney’s south west earlier this year.

About 8.10pm on Thursday 5 June 2025, emergency services were called to the intersection of Hume Highway and Worth Street, Greenacre following reports of a crash involving a hatchback and a truck.

One of the passengers of the hatchback – a 15-year-old boy – died at the scene.

A second passenger – a 16-year-old boy – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver – a 19-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The third passenger – a 19-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to the same hospital in a stable condition.

The truck driver – a 43-year-old man – was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene which was forensically examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Following extensive inquiries, about 5.50am today (Friday 29 August 2025) a 19-year-old woman was arrested after she attended Blacktown Police Station.

She was charged with:

– Aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death with speed greater than 45km over limit

– Dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous

– Negligent driving occasioning death

– Class A motor vehicle exceed speed more than 45km/h

– Aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm greater than 45km/h

– Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive speed dangerous

– Negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm)

She was granted conditional bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 17 September 2025.
