A man has been charged with high-range drink-driving following two vehicle crash in Sydney’s west last night.
About 11.55pm last night (Friday 17 December 2021), emergency services were called to Gregory Street, Yagoona following reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a Volkswagen Golf and a Toyota Aurion.
Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended and located the driver of the Volkswagen– a 44-year-old man – who was uninjured.
The male driver of the Toyota Aurion was uninjured, however, and a female passenger was trapped as a result of the collision.
She was release by fire and Rescue before being taken by Ambulance to Bankstown hospital with minor injuries.
Both drivers were subjected to a roadside breath test, with the driver of the Volkswagen allegedly returning a positive result.
He was subsequently arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he underwent a secondary breath analysis, which allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.162.
The driver of the Volkswagen had his driver’s licence suspended, and he was issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive with high range prescribed concentration of alcohol.
He is due to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 19 January 2022.
