Police charge five after robbery and assault in Kings Park

Brimbank Divisional Response Unit have charged five male teens following an investigation into an alleged assault at Kings Park on Friday 11 June.

Eight search warrants were executed by police this morning in Deer Park, Kings Park, Cairnlea, St Albans, Sunshine West and Point Cook.

Detectives have charged all five with affray, robbery, violent disorder, recklessly cause serious injury, recklessly cause injury, common law assault and unlawful assault.

Those charged include:

• A 15-year-old Deer Park boy

• A 15-year-old Kings Park boy

• A 15-year-old St. Albans boy

• A 16-year-old Cairnlea boy

• A 16-year-old Kings Park boy

Three were remanded and two were bailed, all to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

The charges follow an incident where a group of males allegedly assaulted a boy, demanded his belongings and stole his phone.

The 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with injuries to his body and face, including a fractured cheekbone and jaw.
