Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following the death of an infant.
The 7-week-old baby was admitted to a Benalla hospital on Friday 25 October with life-threatening injuries before being transferred to Monash Children’s Hospital where he died on 30 October.
The 22-year-old Benalla man handed himself in to a Melbourne police station around 6pm yesterday (2 November).
He has been charged with one count of murder and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this morning.
