Police Charge Man After Erratic Behaviour In St Kilda

Police have charged a man after he was allegedly behaving erratically in St Kilda on 19 July.

The man allegedly followed a woman though Alma Park and made threats about 10.55am.

He allegedly assaulted people at a café on Alma Road a short time later.

It is alleged he entered a service station armed with a piece of glass, before being restrained by security staff.

The 50-year-old St Kilda man was taken to hospital under police guard.

He’s been charged with:

  • make threat to kill x 2
  • attempt to commit sexual assault
  • threat to destroy property
  • unlawful assault
  • tamper with motor vehicle
  • theft
  • possess dangerous article
  • behave in riotous manner
  • commit indictable offence on bail

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 10 August.
