Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following an alleged assault in Melton South earlier this week, where a man later died.
It is alleged a 56-year-old man was assaulted at a property on Richard Road about 4pm on Saturday, 2 March.
The man was located a short time later and was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
He died in hospital on Sunday, 3 March.
A 56-year-old Melton South man was arrested and has been charged with manslaughter.
He has been remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 5 March.
