Police charge man after Noble Park hit-run

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 64-year-old man following an alleged hit-run in Noble Park on Saturday night.

The Dandenong North man has been charged with fail to stop at the scene of an accident and fail to render assistance.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 24 May.

The charges relate to an incident where a 34-year-old Springvale woman being struck by a vehicle while crossing Heatherton Road, near Avon Street, about 7pm on 20 May.

It’s alleged the driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

The pedestrian remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
