Police charge man after pedestrian dies in North Parramatta

A man has been charged following a fatal crash at a service station in North Parramatta last week.

Just before 8am on Wednesday 4 December 2019, emergency services were called to a service station on Victoria Road, following reports a 54-year-old woman had been struck by a car.

Police will allege in court that a Honda Civic sedan, driven by a 41-year-old man, collided with the woman as she was walking back to her vehicle.

The woman suffered serious injuries after hitting her head and was taken to Westmead Hospital, where she later passed away.

The driver was also taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, the 41-year-old driver was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for negligent driving occasioning death yesterday (Wednesday 11 December 2019).

He is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 29 January 2020.
