Police charge man after stabbing – East Albury

A man will appear in court tomorrow, charged after a stabbing in the state’s south.

About 11am today (Monday 10 July 2023), emergency services were called to Schubach Street, East Albury, following reports of an assault.

Upon arrival, police were told a man – armed with a knife – approached another man before stabbing him in the neck.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 29-year-old at the scene, before he was taken to Albury Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Murray River Police District arrested a 43-year-old man at the scene.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The 43-year-old man was taken to Albury Police Station, where he was charged with cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent.

He was refused bail and will appear at Albury Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 11 July 2023).
