Police charge man after two vehicle crash at Wagga Wagga

A man has been charged following a two-vehicle crash in the state’s Riverina last week.

About 1.15pm (Thursday 7 December 2023) emergency services were called to Mill Street, North Wagga Wagga, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended and found a silver Toyota Aurion and a blue Holden Commodore had collided.

A 74-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.

The woman was later airlifted to St George Hospital in a stable condition, while the man has been released from hospital.

Following inquiries, about 10pm on Friday (8 December 2023), a 33-year-old man was arrested in Anzac Avenue, Junee.

He was conveyed to Wagga Wagga Police Station, where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning GBH X 2, fail to stop & assist after vehicle impact causing GBH, exceed speed & not exchange particulars.

He was bail refused by Police to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Monday 11 December 2023).
