Police charge man following alleged sexual assault of 13-year-old boy in Northern Beaches

A man will appear in court today charged following an alleged sexual assault of a teenage boy in Sydney’s northern beaches.

On Wednesday (13 February 2019), a 34-year-old man allegedly attended the home of a 13-year-old boy in Killarney Heights, after the pair met via a social application on Tuesday (12 February 2019).

It will be alleged in court the man entered the home before sexually assaulting the boy.

The man left the area and the incident was reported to officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command.

Detectives attended the location and the boy was taken to Randwick Children’s Hospital for examination.

Following inquiries, police attached to Campsie Police Area Command arrested a 34-year-old man at Campsie Police Station about 5.45pm yesterday (Thursday 14 February 2019).

He was charged with aggravated sexual assault victim under the age of 16 years, and use carriage service to procure under 16 years for sexual activity.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Burwood Local Court today (Friday 15 February 2019).
