Police charge man over acts of indecency and grooming of two girls in Marayong

A man will appear in court today after being charged by detectives investigating several alleged acts of indecency and the grooming of two young girls in Sydney’s west.

Earlier this month, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad received a report two girls – aged 10 and 11 – had been exposed to alleged acts of indecency committed by a man who was known to them.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 49-year-old man at a home in Marayong about 12.30pm yesterday (Monday 16 September 2019).

Shortly after, police executed a crime scene warrant at the home, where they seized a laptop.

The man was taken to Riverstone Police Station and charged with commit act of indecency with victim under 10 years (x2), groom child under 14 years for unlawful sexual activity (x2), and intentionally do sexual act with child between 10 and 16 years (DV x3).

Police will allege in court that the man committed acts of indecency in front of the two girls and exposed them to sexually explicit material between January 2017 and September 2019.

It will be further alleged the man attempted to engage the 10-year-old girl in sexual acts on several occasions

The man was refused bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today (Tuesday 17 September 2019).
