Police charge man over multiple thefts in Sydney

A man has been charged over nine alleged thefts across the Sydney Metropolitan area, totalling more than $10,000 of energy drinks.

In April 2023, officers from the Proactive Crime Team attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the large-scale theft of energy drinks from a number of retail stores across the Sydney Metropolitan area that took place throughout the months of April and May of this year.

Inquiries revealed that more than $10,000,00 worth of energy drinks were stolen in nine incidents.

Following intensive inquiries, police executed a search warrant at an address in Fairfield Heights in May and seized a number of items.

on Saturday (8 July 2023), detectives arrested a 36-year-old man at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport after he returned from an overseas trip.

He was taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with nine separate counts of larceny value less than $2,000 each.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday (9 July 2023).
