Police charge man over sexual assault of young girl in Narellan

A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a girl in Sydney’s south-west.

In January 2020, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports a young girl had been sexually assaulted by a man who was known to her.

Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a 48-year-old man at a Narellan home just after 10am yesterday (Friday 13 March 2020).

He was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with sexual intercourse with child under the age of 10 years, two counts of intentionally carry out sexual act with child under 10years (DV), and intentional incite child under 10 years do sexual act to them (DV).

The man appeared at Campbelltown Local Court yesterday (Friday 13 March 2020) and was formally refused bail to re-appear at the same court on Wednesday 13 May 2020.

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
