A teenage boy has been charged with being a passenger in a stolen ute after a police vehicle was struck in a car park in Sydney’s south-west.
An officer with Liverpool City Police Area Command was attempting to stop a utility – which had been reported stolen – as it left the Holsworthy Railway Station carpark on The Boulevarde, about 12.40pm (Thursday 1 October 2020).
Police will allege the utility struck the police car before stopping and letting a youth out before speeding away. There were no injuries.
The 14-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station where he is was charged with being carried in a conveyance taken without consent, take and drive conveyance, resist arrest, and breach of bail.
He’s been refused bail to appear in a children’s court tomorrow (Friday 2 October 2020).
Local police, a team from the Dog Unit and the police airwing, Polair, joined the search for the utility without success.
The stolen vehicle is a brown Mazda B32 Utility with NSW registration YGE63X. Anyone who sees the vehicle is urged not to approach it but call Triple Zero (000).
