Police charge teens after Hallam incident

Southern Metro Crime Team detectives have charged four teenagers following an incident in Hallam this morning.

It’s alleged six offenders were seen by police in a stolen Jeep Cherokee on Frawley Road about 9.20am.

When the car fled the area police deployed stop sticks.

The driver of the Jeep then lost control of the vehicle before hitting a parked police car and tree and coming to rest on the footpath.

The six youths were arrested nearby a short time later.

A 15-year-old Hallam boy has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, drive in manner dangerous, drive at speed dangerous, unlicenced driving and commit indictable offence while on bail.

He has been remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

A 16-year-old Narre Warren girl and a 14-year-old Hallam boy have been charged with theft of motor vehicle.

A 15-year-old Cranbourne South girl has been charged with theft of motor vehicle and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

They have all been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

A 14-year-old Springvale boy and a 16-year Bayswater girl have been released pending summons.
