Police charge teens after stolen car dumped in Moe

Police have charged two teenagers after allegedly stealing a car and dumping it in Moe on Monday morning.

The allegedly stolen vehicle was seen driving erratically on Princess Highway about 11.45am.

With assistance from the Air Wing, police followed the car through Morwell, Mirboo North and Leongatha.

The car was tracked back in Moe, where it came to a stop on Stirling Street.

Six occupants allegedly got out of the car and fled the scene on foot. They were arrested at an Elizabeth Street primary school shortly afterwards.

• A 14-year-old Moe boy was charged with theft of motor vehicle and bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

• A 15-year-old Noble Park boy was charged with theft of motor vehicle and drive in manner dangerous and bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

• A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old Morwell boy are expected to be charged on summons at a later date.

• A 14-year-old and a 13-year-old Trafalgar girl received a caution.
