Police charge three men after Deer Park arrests

Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged thee men after a car sped off from police in Deer Park yesterday.

The three men, aged 19, 21 and 23, have all been charged with theft of motor car and remanded in custody.

The charges follow an incident where police attempted to intercept an allegedly stolen black Holden Barina sedan in Neal Street on Sunday 5 June about 2.50pm.

The car sped off from police before it was found dumped in Deer Park where the three men attempted to run from the scene.

The trio were arrested by police shortly after.

It is believed the vehicle was allegedly stolen in an aggravated burglary in Cairnlea in the early hours of Sunday morning, where a man was assaulted about 12.20am.

Investigations into the aggravated burglary remain ongoing.

The three men will appear before Sunshine Magistrates’ Court today.
