Police charge two after road rage incident in Greenacre

Two men have been charged following a road-rage incident at Greenacre yesterday.

About 2.15pm (Monday 27 September 2021), police were called to the intersection of Roberts and Rawson Roads at Greenacre, following reports of a road-rage incident.

Officers were told a Holden Commodore and a petrol tanker were involved in a minor collision while both vehicles were travelling north on Roberts Road.

The driver of the Commodore and his passenger allegedly exited the vehicle and threw a glass bottle at the tanker before pulling the driver out of the cab and assaulting him.

The injured man, aged 67, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The driver of the Commodore – a 34-year-old man – and his passenger – a 26-year-old man were arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station.

The older man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s) and refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Tuesday 28 September 2021).

The younger man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s), destroy or damage property, possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance, and intentionally throw object at vehicle/vessel risk safety.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 21 October 2021.
