Police charge two in gang-related pub incident in Loganholme, QLD

Officers from Taskforce Maxima, Organised Crime Gangs Group, yesterday charged two men for public nuisance offences and issued further consorting notices for a gang-related disturbance at a Loganholme hotel on March 8.

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima have undertaken an investigation in relation to a group of men, including Mongrel Mob and Finks OMCG members and associates, being involved in an altercation at the hotel.

As a result of the investigation, police issued a 23-year-old man from Sunny Bank Hills and a 29-year-old man for Boronia Heights with consorting notices and public nuisance infringement notices.

In a separate matter, and after ongoing inquiries, consorting notices were also issued to two Bandido OMCG members living at Oxenford and Mount Cotton.

Consorting notices make it illegal for members to associate or keep company with other gang members.

Officer-in-charge of Taskforce Maxima (South East Region), Detective Senior Sergeant Troy Lehmann said police will continue to target criminal behaviour of gangs in this region.

“We will continue to suppress gang-related violence within Gold Coast and Logan community, taking action at every opportunity to disrupt their illegal, and anti-social behaviour,” Detective Senior Sergeant Lehmann said.
