Police charge two over possession of drugs and ammunition at Ormeau

Police have charged a man and woman after allegedly locating a significant quantity of dangerous drugs and ammunition at an Ormeau home yesterday evening.

Around 6.30pm, officers from the Gold Coast Rapid Action and Patrols group conducted a search of a property on Banks Drive, where they allegedly uncovered approximately 70 grams of methylamphetamine (Ice), 60ml of Gamma Hydroxybutyric Acid (GHB/ Fantasy), $22,000 cash, ammunition, two digital scales, two pipes and other drug utensils.

A 29-year-old Mount Warren Park man was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of a drug offence, possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with a drug offence, failing to remain at a place and possessing explosives (ammunition).

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court today, Monday April 15.

A 27-year-old Daisy Hill woman was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing things for use in the administration, consumption, smoking of a dangerous drug.

She is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court next month.
