Police charge woman after Shepparton hit-run

A woman has been seriously injured during an alleged hit-run in Shepparton by a teen who only got her licence that day.

Police received a report that a 22-year-old woman was allegedly struck by a vehicle on Mercury Drive about 11.15pm yesterday.

The Shepparton woman was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after being pinned between two vehicles.

It’s alleged the driver fled the scene.

Investigators attended a Mooroopna address several hours later where they arrested an 18-year-old woman.

She was charged with negligently cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury and other traffic-related offences and bailed to Shepparton Magistrate’s court on 11 September.
