Police charge woman after throwing television at police in Woolloomooloo

A woman has been charged after allegedly throwing a television at police in Woolloomooloo last night.

Just before 11pm (Friday 15 February 2019), officers from Kings Cross Police Area Command attended a home on Dowling Street conducting enquiries into a stolen property matter.

It will be alleged in court that the occupant, a 29-year-old woman, began verbally abusing the officers, before spitting on the face of a male Leading Senior Constable.

As the officers attempted to arrest the woman, she allegedly closed the door on a female Constable, causing a laceration to her forehead.

The woman then allegedly threw a television at the officers before running directly at the male Leading Senior Constable, who used an electronic stun device.

The 29-year-old woman was arrested and treated by paramedics at the scene.

It will be alleged the woman continued to resist arrest before being taken to Kings Cross Police Station where she was charged with assault officer in execution of duty, and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty.

The woman was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 16 February 2019).

The female Constable was taken to Sydney Eye Hospital for treatment and later released.
