Police continue appeal for witnesses to Noble Park collision

Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol officers continue to appeal for witnesses after a collision between a pedestrian and a car in Noble Park on 6 June.

It is believed a man was walking across the Princes Highway at a set of traffic lights at the intersection of Chandler Road and Elonera Road when he was struck by a car travelling north-west on Princes Highway about 11am.

The 84-year-old Noble Park man sustained life-threatening-injuries and was transported to hospital where he remains on life support.

The driver of the silver Mazda sedan, a 59-year-old Dandenong woman, stopped at the scene immediately after the collision.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and appeal for any witnesses who are yet to speak to police to come forward.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from a man who was at the scene at the time of the collision and remained there for some time after emergency services had arrived.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 50-60s, medium build and was wearing a grey herringbone hat dark grey and light grey vest, brown long sleaved top underneath blue jeans and brown shoes.

Investigators are also keen to hear from the driver of a truck towing a distinctive trailer carrying a small red excavator travelling north-west on Princes Highway behind the Mazda sedan at the time of the collision.

The driver of the small white truck is also yet to come forward and police are keen to speak with him.

Investigators have released images of the man standing at the scene and the truck in the hope these men will come forward.
